MAKE ART NOT WARM
In 2018 I made the art project for the Arctic Museum of Modern Art in Norilsk — the northernmost city of Russia with the worst ecology in the country. I’ve made a series of eco-focused paintings (Make Art Not Warm) to attract people’s attention to the way we consume and stay environmentally harmful.

To complement the exhibition, artist Anna Tolkacheva created a VR documentation capturing fragments of life, work, and the final presentation of the "Make Art Not Warm" exhibition at the PolArt residency in Norilsk. Through the use of a smartphone, visitors could immerse themselves in 360-degree videos, further enhancing their experience and connection to the artwork.

Through a series of eco-focused paintings, I sought to create awareness and spark conversations about the impact of our choices on the planet.
I’ve used only local herbarium, minerals, ore, soil, recycled plastic, and paper and created abstract meditative, or painful pieces which appealed to the city, its history, and pollution. By utilizing these elements, I aimed to convey a powerful message about the interplay between human activities, the environment, and the importance of sustainable practices.
